Morning Show Weather Report and Charity
Speaker 1It's time to rise and shine and get your morning started with Alabama's award-winning morning show. Everybody in town's talking about it, broadcasting live from high atop Alabama's beautiful Sand Mountain.
Speaker 2We bring you this special radio television broadcast in order to give you the very latest information on an amazing phenomenon.
Speaker 1Please welcome your hosts. Barry, that boy's about as sharp as a bowling ball, and Holly, the pretty one, is saying crazy stuff again.
Speaker 2That would be you. Me, that would be you. No, yeah, because I've never been called that.
Speaker 3Have you ever been called a liar?
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Okay, I believe that.
Speaker 2It's 6.07. Man, it feels good. This morning we're in the 50s again. Woo, yeah, it's 54 in Fort Payne, 56 in Gadsden. We're at 57 here at QSB and you will be walking on sunshine today. 84 will be the highest. It's going to be a beautiful day, nice and breezy later this afternoon. Tomorrow they give us a slight chance of rain, and then Friday still about a 40, 50, 50 chance of rain. But the temps, it feels good this morning it feels wonderful this morning.
Speaker 3Yep, good for a morning walk or sit outside drink your morning coffee, sure absolutely.
Speaker 2Thank you for joining us this morning. We appreciate you having us in. Yeah, I'm going to give you a lot of stuff out of information this morning and many of the things you can do to help, like donating dog food for a second chance shelter. We'll tell you how that works and if you if you miss the picture, the T-shirt you can get, you need to go to our Facebook page and look. Woodstock 2024 has one of the best looking T-shirts we ever had.
Speaker 3I was not going to let you skip over that T-shirt. I was going to make sure you hit on that.
Speaker 2T-shirt you took a picture of it and posted it.
Speaker 3I took a picture of it and posted it, and we have very tie-dye shirts. We have multiple, uh, various color shirts, but we're limited on tie tie and I saw people tagging each other and wanting these shirts oh yeah, we will be here at six o'clock friday morning on friday morning, that's when it starts that's when it starts. If you would like to get a tie-dye t-shirt, you can line up at the door at 6 o'clock, or you may be the only one here.
Speaker 2I may well be, but it takes 30 pounds of dog food. You donate 30 pounds, you get a t-shirt.
Speaker 3That's it.
Speaker 2And the dog food goes to Second Chance Shelter, so it's a win-win for everybody.
Speaker 3Hey, that's awesome.
Speaker 2And thank you to Dixie Designs and Boaz. They have knocked this one out of the park with another beautiful design of a t-shirt.
Speaker 3It's awesome. It's a little dog with dreads and it says Wolfstock and the O is a peace sign and it has little music notes around it. It's so cute, it is cool.
Speaker 2It starts Friday, the donation starts and we're going to do it all through June, the entire month of June. You can drop off dog food here during business hours, but we're making exception Fridays, since that's the day it starts. You can drop it off here. 30 pounds or more gets you a free T-shirt.
Speaker 3Yes, and the question on Facebook a lot of people were asking was do we take it to the shelter or do we bring it to the station? Bring it here to us.
Speaker 2Yeah, you can do either, but the t-shirts are here, if you take it to the shelter.
Speaker 3You want a t-shirt, bring it here.
Speaker 2You can go to the shelter and you'll get a t-shirt, but you then have to drive to the radio station to get the t-shirt.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, so you've got to come here, anyway. Yeah, I see what you're saying.
Speaker 2You can drop it off to Second Chance Shel, but you still have to come here to get the t-shirt. I have a question.
Speaker 3Yeah, I'm going to whisper it. Who's carrying all this dog food out? You, but no one can carry it.
Speaker 2It's always the person who has hired last.
Speaker 3It's not me.
Speaker 2Oh, that would be Seth there was. Will, there was Seth it falls to Seth Lee came back. Yeah, I guess it's Lee Mosley. I guess it's.
Speaker 3Lee Mosley, I've been here a year. I'm not the new guy anymore.
Speaker 2If you know Lee Mosley, tell him you're the dog food guy. He's a toter.
Speaker 3I'm going to tell you I can't carry that much.
Speaker 2It will amaze you. We have people walk in here. They're shorter than you and they weigh about 20 pounds.
Speaker 3And they've got one bag over each shoulder.
Speaker 2That's crazy. Then they hand it to me and then it drops on there. I don't know how I tore my arm loose. Probably Totin' dog food, Totin'.
Speaker 3Did you say totin'?
Speaker 2Totin' dog food.
Speaker 3Totin' dog food.
Speaker 2You don't tote anything.
Speaker 3I don't tote anything I carry, you carry it.
Speaker 2Yeah, you don't tote.
Speaker 3Oh, this is going on Facebook. You, you toad, no, you carry. Do you toad something?
Speaker 2Is toad a real word? I've always heard toad my entire life, not toad.
Speaker 3Hey Siri, Is toad a real word? Toad is derived from Old English Toad.
Speaker 2No, it's totally different To toad, or to toad is totally opposite.
Speaker 3You can toad in church. You can't toad in there, Well you can, but they know where it came from. Okay, no, do you call it toad or carry?
Speaker 2Toad. So Siri didn't know. Uh-uh, try T-O-T-E. I think that's how you spell it In my mind you do.
Speaker 3All right. So what do I? Did I Google it?
Speaker 2Yeah, google totes. That's what the meaning of it is, because maybe a good scribble word too you can use Define tote See what it says Carry, wield or convey.
Speaker 3See Something heavy there you go the tote. Okay, I'm putting it on Facebook. Do you call it tote or to carry?
Speaker 2So do you use carry?
Speaker 3Yeah, I say I, I'm gonna carry this dog food inside the house isn't a purse, also called like a tote bag? It is called a tote. Oh, I don't like that, I don't like. And there's something you say I don't like. I don't like billfold.
Speaker 2Yeah, I like wallet, yeah, wallet I don't know.
Speaker 3There's just certain words that it's just I don't know it's weird.
Speaker 2We have different meanings for different ways to say certain words.
Speaker 3Okay, tote this going to tote this in the house. I think that's a Southern thing. I think it is yeah.
Speaker 2Hey, we want to congratulate our listener of the day.
Speaker 3Josh Johnson. Way to go, Josh, Yay.
Speaker 2Josh. Josh is cool.
Speaker 3Josh has been so supportive lately he's been giving us the nicest comments.
Speaker 2He has, and he really went above and beyond commenting on the post from my day yesterday.
Speaker 3Yes.
Speaker 2Dealing with Reed's birthday. Yes, josh, I read every single comment. By the way, you put up a post yesterday morning telling it was a hard day dealing with my son's birthday. He would have been 30. And he passed away two years ago. But there were some amazing comments and there were so many I was going to start replying, but you said that's going to shut Facebook down.
Speaker 3I did. You had so many that it would have flagged you and shut you down and put you in Facebook jail.
Speaker 2But please know, I read every single one of them.
Speaker 3Every one of them.
Speaker 2And it touched my heart it really did knowing that there's so many people praying yes, your prayers worked, because it ended up being a better day than I thought it would be. It was a hard day but it was a better day than I was expecting and I think the prayers worked and the people's comments. So many of these people I've never had the chance to meet in person. I say your names and I thought that's a listener. I'd love to meet them and they were so nice. It meant so much.
Speaker 3I think it's hard for you because you feel so guilty. You were talking this morning. You said this year will be three years. I should have moved on. But I don't think that this is something. I think you get stuck in a place of grieving. You move on and you feel better and you have more of a routine, but I don't think that this is something that ever goes away.
Speaker 2No, it's not. And what really affected me was looking at all the comments of other listeners who have also lost a child and how it's affected them. And it's just a group, I guess, a club you don't want to be in.
Brown Bag Day and Listener Appreciation
Speaker 2I don't want to be in that club you should never have to be in that you have to outlive your child or children and for the people who also lost one praying for you also. It's tough, but the comments were amazing and then I wrote a little note last night thanking everybody. Then more comments come in, and Josh had one of the comments that really stuck out to me. And I appreciate it. All the comments, Thank you all so much. I didn't reply to every single one because it would take me a while.
Speaker 3Well, I'm afraid, and being honest, I'm one-handed right now. You're one-handed, I really am. You're typing one-handed, it's hard to type. All right, we got comments coming in. Jason Pruitt says tote, pam Harris says tote, t yeah, connie Meeks says both, sonia Harrell says tote and George Thomas says carry. So I don't know Well you can do both.
Speaker 2You can like going on an airplane, you can tote your carry on See. The way your face lit up when you thought of that. Yeah, see, I just went off. See, it's like you raised your hand in class. You finally got an answer to a math question.
Speaker 3Hey, we've got 17 comments on your and God, we got a lot of comments on that picture of the good morning. We got to go over some of these. Okay, you want to go over them later? We will, because I got some things to tell you too. Well, we got to get to business. Okay, let's get to it.
Speaker 2Down to it, it's things you need to know and people are waiting to find out what they need to know. Know today, because it's Wednesday, may 29th, almost through with another month. You can tell school is out because birthday calls slow down. Traffic slows down a little bit in the morning. Crickets, crickets. So tell us what's going on today.
Speaker 3Today is National Brown Baggett Day.
Speaker 2I used to brown baggett to school every day. Mother always made my lunch.
Speaker 3I still brown baggett at least once a week. I love it With.
Speaker 2McDonald's and I love the brown bag special, like at Dale's Barbecue.
Speaker 3I love brown bag specials anywhere. They're always good.
Speaker 2I love them. Sometimes I'll bring a lunch here at work. I mean, it's so much cheaper too.
Speaker 3Barry, I'm not seeing you one time. Bring lunch here.
Speaker 2Well, you don't eyeball me all the time.
Speaker 3Yes, I do, yes, I do.
Speaker 2Saturdays and Sundays when I work makes me stiff.
Speaker 3Okay, fair enough, all right, the most popular things that people use brown bags are to carry your lunch to school or work, like you said. Sure, to carry your groceries. Yeah, I'm not one of them, I do plastic.
Speaker 2Plastic I do too, but don't tell anybody, because I can reuse it for my garbage can.
Speaker 3I do. I reuse it for like cleanups. Yeah.
Speaker 2And number three.
Speaker 3Okay, in case of a really ugly date.
Speaker 2Sometimes you need a two-bagger. They call her or they call him A two-bagger, a double-bag, in case the first one falls off. You got the backup on the head. They were so ugly.
Speaker 3Isn't it more dangerous to double-bag it? It is, yeah, I think it is. They were so ugly, isn't it?
Speaker 2more dangerous to double bag it? It is, yeah, I think it is.
Speaker 3I can't breathe.
Speaker 2No, yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 3Oh, here's something you need to know. In a heartwarming and inspiring act of kindness, a fifth grade student from Missouri demonstrated incredible compassion and generosity by raising enough money to clear his entire school's meal debt.
Speaker 2That is awesome, I love that. That is awesome, I love that.
Speaker 3That is awesome, that is.
Speaker 2Because a lot of times you go through school and you can't pay, so you'll have a debt and you'll try to catch up at the end of the year. He heard about this. I read this story. He heard about this and thought I need to try to help these kids. So he did all kinds of things, from mowing yards to washing windows, just raising money so he could pay off that debt. It doesn't say how much it was, but it had to be hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
Speaker 3Yeah, and he's in fifth grade.
Speaker 2Fifth grader.
Speaker 3Fifth grade wants to help people.
Speaker 2His fellow students. I love that. That's a great story. That is such a good story, yep.
Speaker 3And then here's something to think about. Okay, my dad, he told me years ago that when he was little he had to smack the side of the TV because the channel wasn't clear.
Speaker 2We did too.
Speaker 3We did too, I've just been thinking I wish we could do that to people. Just smack the side of them and see if it's working. You're making no sense If you get it working again, smack. Smack the side of them.
Speaker 2You make absolutely no sense. You idiot Smack that would be good. Yeah, you make absolutely no sense. You, idiot Smack that would be good.
Speaker 1Yeah, 618. Wqsb mornings with Barry and Holly.
Speaker 2Our listener of the day is on the phone. We're talking to Josh.
Speaker 3Hey, Josh, hey how are y'all doing?
Speaker 2We're good, Doing good. Josh Johnson, the official listener of the day and you get a QSB morning show T-shirt. So congratulations to you, josh, and hey, we just want to put you on the air and just thank you for listening, and you've been commenting off and on for stuff that we put up there for a long time for years Roughly. How long have you been listening to QSP Do?
Speaker 5you know, for a long time. I had a job change three years ago to where I'm able to listen on and off throughout the day, so I'd say I've been a number one fan for three years and I believe it too.
Speaker 2Thanks, josh. Pretty much anything we comment on, like we commented on something this morning, you mean anything we post. Post, yeah, anything we post. We'll ask Josh carry or tote? Yes, what do you?
Speaker 3call it. Do you tote it or do you carry it, Josh?
Speaker 5I think it's just according to the. Sometimes I get tired of toting things around. Yeah, I carry a license. Yeah, right.
Speaker 3But if you're carrying groceries to your front door, are you toting them or carrying them? Oh, I'm toting them. Oh yeah, josh is toting.
Speaker 2Holly said you're a carrier, I'm a carrier. Oh yeah, josh is toting. Holly said you're a carrier, I'm a carrier. Yep, but you crossed your eyes when I said toed. You never used toed.
Speaker 3Never. Uh-uh, it's not foreign to me, it's not like I've never heard it, it's just I've never heard you say it. Okay, and it took me off guard Because you're not. You are not that. Sorry, barry, but you're not that country. You're not that country like you have a radio accent it's kind of neutral.
Speaker 2I'm country. I grew up in Crossville and we peed off the back porch.
Speaker 3I'm sure Josh did too josh, thank you so much for calling in well, josh, you be careful.
Speaker 2I know you're working today and we'll get you that t-shirt when we see you in a few, maybe in the next day or so okay okay, thank you.
Speaker 5You won't thank everybody the hell all right, thanks, josh, appreciate it.
Speaker 2Speaking of comments, you put up another one last night it was the last night or this morning about the soap.
Speaker 3That was last night and that was a huge response. We had over 400 comments.
Speaker 2The question you mentioned that you've got Irish Spring, a bar of soap.
Speaker 3You don't have to tell people what I use.
Speaker 2Well, yes, we do.
Speaker 3No, you don't have to.
Speaker 2Acquiring minds want to know.
Speaker 3Well, there's people on here that's going to judge me.
Speaker 2Well, you asked me when's the last time you've had a bar of soap. Yes, and I thought it's been a while since I've had a bar of soap.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2I can't use one now because with a bar of soap.
Speaker 3luckily we've got the oh my gosh, Can you imagine if you dropped it?
Speaker 2Oh, with one arm.
Speaker 3Yeah, and you can't let that other arm hang too much of an angle.
Speaker 2No. Like that would be terrible, but I use the liquid soap in pretty much every room. I don't have a bar of soap.
Speaker 3Body wash.
Speaker 2Body wash. Well, it's a squirt bottle.
Speaker 3Yeah, liquid soap is like for washing your hands.
Speaker 2Well, it's in the bathroom too.
Speaker 3It is, but you don't put it on your bottom. I hope you don't.
Speaker 2Yeah, no, you got to clean your.
Speaker 3Not hand soap.
Speaker 2No, body wash no body wash.
Speaker 3Yeah, okay, we're on the same page here Okay. Okay, quit looking at me like that.
Speaker 2I didn't know what you Like. You said I didn't wash my butt.
Speaker 3I thought you were saying you did with hand soap.
Speaker 2I was concerned. Okay, but some of the comments, how would you say? People lean more towards liquid than to do bar soap.
Speaker 3Let me see what my AI says.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Because it's got this really neat thing on Facebook on mobile. When you go to the comments it'll give you a summary, so I don't have to do. Okay, here we go. It says opinions are divided, with some preferring bar soap for the cleansing properties and other lacking body wash for the moisturizing properties. Some people use both, depending on their mood or for different parts of their body. I was looking this morning at like 3.30 and a lot of people wash their face with bar soap and their body with body wash.
Speaker 2Okay, that makes sense.
Speaker 3That was probably the biggest answer.
Speaker 2Okay, like Jessica Lanham here says body wash, pam Clift body wash. Sabrina Stevens, bar soap, it doesn't make the bathtub slick. Oh yeah, crystal Peoples, body wash. Amy Roberts, both Patricia Kirby, body wash, dove. Both Patricia Kirby, body Wash, dove, rejuvenate. Oh, megan Brooks Body Wash. Crystal Haynes, body Wash. So here Lakita Elkins, bar Soap and Wash with Body Wash. Let's see, lakita does both.
Speaker 3Yeah, she does both. Morgan House, which is Tiffany English, says body wash dove coconut Yum.
Speaker 2I bet that sounds good Looking at the voting it's almost, I'd say, nine out of ten people will go with body wash. There's not many bars of soap users on here Deborah Ritchie soap bar. Deidre body wash the bar soap leaves my skin tight and itchy. Yeah. To me bar soap. It's hard to use from the waist down especially. Mm-mm. No. Mm-mm.
Speaker 3Mm-mm.
Speaker 2You don't think so Mm-mm.
Speaker 3Rachel Bloodworth. She was one of my nursing instructors. She said body wash. Okay, hold on.
Speaker 2Okay, I'm going to finish this comment here. Okay, I'm coming back. You said no, you shook your head. No, why, uh-huh? No, like you don't want to use the bar of soap.
Speaker 3It's not a problem.
Speaker 2On the rear end.
Speaker 3Yes, you do.
Speaker 2Because then if you put it back up to your face now, you've got.
Speaker 3No, you put it on a washcloth, butt soap face. No, you don. You put the soap on a washcloth and the butt goes on the washcloth, not the soap.
Speaker 2Okay, For guys? They probably don't. Guys jump in there with a bar of soap and go to town, Go to work. You don't go grab a washcloth.
Speaker 3Yes, you do. Well, you're supposed to.
Speaker 2That's girly.
Speaker 3No, it's not. I know what you're wanting to say. No, yes, you are, but it is no, it's not.
Speaker 2I don't think I used a bath rag to wash anything until I was much older, because when you're little, or even the guy, you just grab a bar of soap and just lather up your hands and you, there you go you don't use a wait a minute when I was younger. No, I never used a bath rag what about now?
Speaker 3yes, okay, okay I thought you're saying you don't use one now and I was not about to come undone.
Speaker 2Like most, guys when they're probably younger. They're in a hurry and you just take care of business as quick as you can.
Speaker 3Now I'll be honest with you. I use my hands to lather.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's what guys do, okay, or most. I'm speaking for men here, but mostly. You're, or most I'm, speaking for. I'm standing up for men here, but mostly I never used a bath rag. When I was little, mother would always get the bath rag and wash your face because you'd mind your ears, because you're just.
Speaker 3Covered in dirt. Did you have to share bath water?
Speaker 2We did. I was the youngest one in the family so I always I was number five. So by the time I got in there it looked like sweet tea like milo's sweet tea in the bathtub it was. It was cold summertime. Baths were not fun when I was little because you got one bathtub full of water is that okay? My brothers would always get my attention to doing something outside. No one. Okay, we're gonna go inside and take a bath. Oh, he's gonna be outside playing basketball.
Speaker 3He's gonna be the last one he gets a nasty water so did you do it by order of age or by like?
Speaker 2uh call it sisters went first, and then the brothers, and then I was last, because I was the youngest and I probably stunk at school, I don't know you're really weird about personal hygiene, though you think that's why. Now I think back to. I was pretty nasty when I was little because I was the fewest one in the tub.
Speaker 3Because you like brush your teeth a ton and you like take lots of showers.
Speaker 2I'm paranoid now with this arm because I feel like I have body odor because I can't raise my left arm.
Speaker 3But it's not that You've made me stick my nose in your armpit about 40 times. It does not stink, it doesn't stink.
Speaker 2We're good.
Speaker 3It doesn't. You're getting in there. I even told you not to use deodorant.
Speaker 2I was told not to clean the grass where they attached my bicep was in my armpit area. That hurts. Well, I bet it does, I was told don't get it wet because your stitches. You don't want to get those wet.
Speaker 3Yeah, but they've got you taped up.
Speaker 2Yeah, well, alright, so we're looking over some fuel and coming on with confusion.
Speaker 3What have we done to this morning show? It's bad, yeah, it's 631.
Speaker 1Mornings with Barry and Hall here on Alabama's country giant WQSB.
Speaker 2Sunshine 84, a little high later today. A little windy Winds, 10 to 15 miles an hour. Good day to be outside and enjoy 58 this morning here at QSP. Looking over the post earlier about do you say you tote or carry something, because I mentioned I was toting something and you thought that was odd. So then you said you say carry.
Speaker 3I carry Like Rhonda Hill says depends on the situation.
Speaker 2I use both. Amber Sample says tote. Adam Shankle says tote most of the time. Trish Smith says both. Cindy Glasscock says carry. Amanda Patterson tote if it's heavy and carry if it's not heavy. Okay.
Speaker 3Sid Sneed says carry Tote makes my skin crawl.
Speaker 2Ooh, ooh. So you think? There's a weight limit then, according to, like Anna, maybe people say you're toting something. If it's heavy, you carry it like a purse.
Speaker 3maybe if it's not as heavy, I know because that's what Brandon and Beth Garman commented too Tote if it's heavy carry if it's something small.
Speaker 2I never thought of that. Wanda Piper said the same thing Tote if heavy, carry if light. Casey Brooks a bag of Jennifer Elrod, both. Rita Smith tote, katie Sutton tote. So far, tote seems to be the number one answer in this area.
Speaker 3Yeah, tote, tote's popular.
Speaker 2Some say just whatever.
Speaker 3Yeah, but then you get to the bottom and they're all carry.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Celebrity Lookalikes and Entertainment News
Speaker 3You say that, totes, I think you are pulling favorites over here, because I'm looking Well, the most recent.
Speaker 2I'm going with the most recent comments, but you're right further on down it was Carrie Carrie, carrie, connie Meeks, both yeah, so let us know what you think. Then, while you're on there, scroll down. It's a guy who looks like John Wick. Okay, but it's not Keanu Reeves and it's not John Wick the character. But the people were blown away by this man. It was in, let's see, thailand, is that right? Yeah.
Speaker 2In Thailand. This guy was working, or he was there at a restaurant and they began taking pictures and posting them. So what do you think? Does he look like Keanu Reeves?
Speaker 3Oh, my gosh Does he look like Keanu Reeves. Oh my gosh, he looks like copy and paste.
Speaker 2He does. And somebody asked is John Wick still alive and well? Ah, footage of the street food vendor he's on the street working went viral in Thailand, prompting fans to speculate that the assassin has retired to live a simpler life. Of course it's a character, but they did some research and found out it's actually a German man visiting his wife in Thailand. He was there visiting and he was helping out a friend at, I guess, a food vendor location and people began taking pictures because he looks just like to me, like John Wick.
Speaker 3He looks identical to John Wick.
Speaker 2He does.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2So the question to you is have you ever been compared to a famous person as far as looks, say? You look just like this person. No, have you? I haven't either, but I told you once that, looking at your pictures, some of your old Facebook pictures you look a lot like Candace Cameron Bure from Fuller House.
Speaker 3No, I don't see it. You do you look like. Dwayne the Rock Johnson. It's the tattoos and the muscles.
Speaker 2What do you need, do you?
Speaker 3need cash, cash at me.
Speaker 2Do you need cash? Have you got like a loan you?
Speaker 3kind of look like Chris Hemsworth a little bit. One of the like you could be a Hemsworth.
Speaker 2I've turned you off because you're just completely out of control now. Are you going to settle down? Are you going to settle down? Okay, you're back on now. You muted me. I did because that's enough of that.
Speaker 3Leonardo DiCaprio.
Speaker 2You're off again, so we'll move on now. This will be me Holly's in the background, but I've never been compared to anyone. I haven't, I really haven't, but no, but I've never been compared to anyone.
Speaker 3I haven't, I really haven't.
Speaker 2But you know, I've seen a lot of people in this area who may have maybe a lookalike family member, yeah, or a friend.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm, I just put it on Facebook because I want to see.
Speaker 2I want to see if anybody looks like anybody, yeah, and don't just say that, yeah, I've been told I look like. Well, show us.
Speaker 3I'm going to tell you, Chandler from Gridiron looks just like Sydney Sweeney you are correct, she looks just like her.
Speaker 2She does.
Speaker 3And the whole face, her hair. We were at the Gridiron a few weeks ago.
Speaker 2She walked by. You would think it's Sydney Sweeney Seriously waiting on.
Speaker 3By the way, it's a huge compliment because Sydney Sweeney is absolutely stunning and I think Chandler is too. I think Chandler is probably one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen in real life.
Speaker 2So there's one. So, listeners, if you've ever been and said, hey, you look just like so-and-so, that's famous, show us, yeah, show us. Put a picture and do a side-by-side. What we could do is even the one who looks the most like the person you say we can give you a free t-shirt.
Speaker 3A station t-shirt.
Speaker 2We'll give you a free t-shirt. We'll let you post the rest of the day. Then tomorrow morning we'll go over and look through the pictures and we'll pick out one who looks the most like a famous person and give you a free t-shirt.
Speaker 3Okay, let me have that posted.
Speaker 2Yeah do this on our Facebook page and be sure to give us your picture and tell us who you think the people have said you look like. Or if it's not you somebody in your family or a friend They'll say like I've got a friend who looks like so-and-so.
Speaker 3Yes, and then show us. I mean, if you do, we need to see the pictures We've got to see Like. Griff Amos and Jelly Roll. Yes, griff Amos next to Jelly Roll, identical.
Speaker 2Griff did a great job.
Speaker 3Griff did such a good job. He did that on Halloween this past year. Sure did. And we brought him in for an interview. He did such a good job.
Speaker 2He did amazing. Okay, don't be goofy like Holly and make up stuff and if you don't even look like the person like you're saying, the Rock.
Speaker 3Patrick Dempsey.
Speaker 2Okay, I don't know what you. I think you've been into my Percocet. I guess I don't know.
Speaker 3Oh my God, it's very I think you're hallucinating now.
Speaker 1So let us know.
Speaker 2Put the pictures up. We'll talk about them at 6.43.
Speaker 1And Holly On Alabama's Country, Giant WQSB.
Speaker 2All right, it's time for Holly's pile of stories. This morning Yellowstone News sort of CBS canceling shows and Home Alone up for sale. What all is going on today.
Speaker 3So Yellowstone prequel spinoff 1923 will be back for season two. Initially, 1923 was going to be a one season limited series, but it will be getting a second season after becoming such a big hit for the Yellowstone franchise.
Speaker 2I didn't realize it was only written for one season.
Speaker 3Me neither, but I loved. It Is 1923, the one with Elsa.
Speaker 2Uh, no, okay, that was the one with Tim McGraw.
Speaker 3Yes, 1883 was Tim McGraw, 1883, okay, and 23 was Harrison.
Speaker 2Ford, the older lady.
Speaker 3Yes, yes, I like that one that was good.
Speaker 2Well, very violent too, yeah, it was, but it's good. And I'll also read that they're not going to film it in Montana, like they do Yellowstone. They're moving it to Texas. I don't know why, but they're filming it at a different location. I don't like that.
Speaker 3I'm not sure why. Brutal year for shows when it comes to cancellations, or at least shows that are ending. This year, cbs has five shows ending or canceled in 24, and here they are Young Sheldon, which has really bummed some people out, yeah, blue Bloods, wow, ncis, hawaii, csi, vegas, and so Help Me, todd.
Speaker 2That's some big shows, I know.
Speaker 3I'm surprised.
Speaker 2They're losing some big shows this year.
Speaker 3I'm really shocked. I've heard so many people on Facebook. I've read. I should say yeah, so many people are bummed about Young Sheldon. Yeah, I never watched that.
Speaker 2I didn't either. I loved Big Bang Theory, but I never watched Young.
Speaker 3Sheldon yeah, I did too and suburb in Illinois where Kevin McAllister lived in and Home Alone is up for sale. It just hit the market for guess how much.
Speaker 2No idea $5.25 million. How big is this thing?
Speaker 3It's a five bedroom, six bath with 9,126 square feet.
Speaker 2What makes it so valuable?
Speaker 3Probably because it was used in Home Alone. Home. Alone, and it may be the area too. Didn't they film in New York?
Speaker 2Everything's more expensive in New York, part of it, but this home is in Illinois.
Speaker 3Oh, that's right. That's right, chicago Okay.
Speaker 2Your short-term memory keeps him there.
Speaker 3Hi, I'm. Dory.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I wonder if all the little traps and things that he planted in the house for the two guys breaking in are still in there. I wonder if they have anything in there to do with the movie that's left or if it's all just a regular house.
Speaker 3I don't know. I bet they have some stuff, that's expensive though $5.2 million yeah $5.5 million for that house. It's just a five-bedroom, six-bathroom, 9,000 square feet.
Speaker 2Not seeing it.
TikTok, Taylor Swift, and AGT Chit-Chat
Speaker 3Uh-uh. And on his way to perform at a Coldplay concert in the UK over the weekend, chris Martin, who is the lead singer of Coldplay, saw an older fan struggling to walk heading towards the venue. He pulled the car over and he invited the fan to hop in and he gave him a lift. Oh my goodness. Sandra Glenn was her name. She's a 64-year-old fan with severe osteoarthritis, and she's now an even bigger fan.
Speaker 2Can you imagine You're going to the Taylor Swift show and you're walking from your car to get to the venue? You probably had to park a mile away. Taylor Swift pulls up and says hey, let me give you a ride.
Speaker 3I wouldn't make it.
Speaker 2I would pass away, I would go that is amazing. The lead singer the person you're going to see sing pulls over and says let me give you a ride to my show.
Speaker 3Do you remember that TikTok I showed you yesterday of Mary where she fell backwards and she said I'm dead?
Speaker 2The lady in the nursing home.
Speaker 3That's me, that would be me.
Speaker 2I'm dead.
Speaker 3She just throws herself back and says I'm dead. She was funny.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, but that's a great story. Yeah, 654, your birthdays are next.
Speaker 1WQSB mornings with Barry and Holly.
Speaker 2Yeah, so thank you, josh. And hey, before we move on, you've got some of the comments. Yeah, I've got this pulled up. I posted a picture of you and I said bury the one-armed wonder. Yeah, right. And I said, hey, who's up? And listening to us this morning. We want to give you a shout-out.
Speaker 3So Audrey Hilburn says she's headed to work in ARAB Okay. Jackie Smalley says good morning. Sean Bolton says listening at work in Huntsville. Susan Sterling says good morning, love, listening to y'all on the way to work. Prayers for speedy recovery. Tracy said she lives in Susanmore but she drives to Gadsden and I love this because she says she walks into work with the other girls saying, hey, did you hear what Barry and Holly were talking about? They cracked me up. Who was that again?
Speaker 2That saying hey, did you hear what Barry and Holly were talking?
Speaker 3about. Who was that again? That's Tracy Melcher.
Speaker 2Thank you, Tracy I know.
Speaker 3Thanks, tracy, that's such a compliment. It is Tina Gordon. No, I'm sorry, tina. Keith says good morning from Henninger. Linda South says looking good. Barry Betty Gilbreth has a picture of her in the same exact sling as you.
Speaker 2So the same kind of surgery.
Speaker 3She has shoulder surgery.
Speaker 2She said Well, she knows it's painful.
Speaker 3Melissa Riggs says me every day, every single morning. So many people on here, thank you, thank you for the comments we appreciate that.
Speaker 2Thank you, yeah, and we were talking America's Got Talent, my favorite show. Now you said you watched last night too.
Speaker 3I did because you've talked this up. This was not a show that I've watched before. I did watch the end of last summer because, that's when I came into work here.
Speaker 2So what do you honestly think To me? I told you it's a show for pretty much the entire family and it's just taking people, ordinary people, and giving them a chance to be special for two minutes and maybe even go on to getting a career out of doing something they've always dreamed of doing, like last night. Do you watch last night?
Speaker 3yeah, I did. So. What was your thoughts on the show? I watched it last night and I loved. I think my thoughts are they chose the right golden buzzers yeah, so they had two last night yeah every person gets two this year.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah. And Terry Crews was first with a comedian from Zimbabwe. And he was hilarious, he is great, I told you. I think he's got a chance to win it all because how unique he's from Zimbabwe. He's hilarious, the material he used was great and he could use that kind of material every week on about how poor they were in coming to America and how things are different.
Speaker 3Yeah, he was just all over the place. He was wild, he was good, he was so funny. He was so funny, he was probably. I know the other one, the other golden buzzer is good, but I think Zimbabwe is my favorite, I do too.
Speaker 2And the lady who walked, the ballet dancer, who walked on her toes on the top of bottles yeah, like beer bottles, yeah, or wine bottles, and they were not put in cement or stone.
Speaker 3No, they were just sitting on a table, just loose no on a platform.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3It was up high. She had to climb upstairs to get to it.
Speaker 2She walked across about what? Seven, eight, nine of them, yeah, on the tips of her toes. Yeah, her toes without falling. That was amazing.
Speaker 3The magician who looked like he was moving his fingers had no idea how he did that. See those. Aggravate me, you like them.
Speaker 2They aggravate me. I wanted to figure out how they do it but I could not.
Speaker 3I think that's why it irks me.
Speaker 2The little dancer, who was a sweet little girl one minute. Then she walked off stage and changed. She came back in. It looked like something out of the Exorcist.
Speaker 3Yeah, that was weird, but it was good.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3I'm not into horror. Yeah, you have to be careful when you said that word on radio. Yeah, it's tough.
Speaker 2It's tough to say Horror yeah, horror yeah. And go back to the other Golden Buzz. We're going to play this one performing. He got the golden buzzer and he's a janitor from my school and he flew the first time he's ever been on a plane and when he walked out there you thought, okay, he's probably gonna be okay if he's held in the shell. He did uh journey and he sounds a lot like steve perry.
Speaker 2Yeah he sounds just like him and here's a piece of this guy. He's probably, what would you say, 40s, 50s, 50s, maybe 60s, and he nailed it. Here's a piece of his performance.
Speaker 4Here's a piece of his performance. Just a small town girl Living in a lonely world. She took a midnight train going anywhere. Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit. He took them and that train going anywhere.
Speaker 3He's a janitor.
Speaker 2He is good, here we go. One more piece.
Speaker 4Cigarette in a smoky room, so amazing Smell, a light on the tip of you, oh, a smile that can share the night. It goes on and on, and on and on.
Speaker 2Strangers where they tear Up and down the front of our dead side. That's good stuff, that's good. And to watch his expression he looks in the crowd and they are standing on their feet and he has tears. He gets a golden buzzer and just breaks down crying.
Speaker 3I know, but let me be negative Nancy here. What other songs is he going to sound good on?
Speaker 2It's probably going to be Journey songs.
Speaker 3It's going to have to be limited. That's my American Owl brain thinking over here.
Speaker 2Because you've got to be able to perform in Vegas if you're the winner At least a 45 to 60 minute show, and can you pull up enough material to make it worth watching for 60 minutes?
Speaker 3He sounded just like Journey, though that was wild.
Speaker 2So anyway, it's back on again next Tuesday and time for words of wisdom, the quote of the day even. Have you some music. Are you ready?
Speaker 3Yeah, okay, okay, oh, sound of silence People sometimes are silent. They need to.
Speaker 2Oh, oh oh. Sound of silence. People sometimes are silent. They need to hear something positive, hear something reinforcing Words of wisdom. Quote of the day. What have you got today?
Speaker 3Yeah, be quiet and let me tell you these words of wisdom Okay, no one can whistle a symphony and takes a whole orchestra to play it. Oh, it's a deep sound I love that. Yeah, you can't do it all by yourself. Oh, it's a deep sound. I love that. Yeah, you can't do it all by yourself. No, like this radio station.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3One person had to come in and do all this. There's no way it can make it work.
Speaker 2It's like any kind of sport. It's a team. Yep, it's a team.
Speaker 3It's a team effort. It makes it work.
Speaker 2Yeah, so not one person. I like that. So what, play it Good stuff, alright, 7-16.
Speaker 1Mornings with Barry and Holly here on Alabama's country giant WQSB. Here's my cherry pie, sweet cherry pie Mornings food stories.
Speaker 2I love club crackers, club crackers. And now they've made little chains. Now they have club crackers crisps. I've had these, but not this flavor. There's a new flavor Mike's Hot Honey Club Crisp Crackers crisps. I've had these, but not this flavor. There's a new flavor Mike's Hot Honey Club Crisp Crankers. They're a thinner, crispier version of the buttery crackers, the new limited time flavor. It has the sweet heat of honey infused with chili peppers over the buttery cracker. But it's not like the cracker, they're kind of like a I don't know what would you? We've had this. It's like a crispy chip.
Speaker 2The crisps yeah, like a crispy Cranker, and it's a brand new collaboration that's out now and we're going to grab some of these and test these on air. 10 out of 10 coming up in just a few days.
Speaker 3Oh, we are.
Speaker 2Yep, so check out the details on our Facebook page and I think these will be good. I love something where with this a little bit of a kick. So I don't know if I like this drink from mcdonald's, but it's not here yet, right?
Speaker 3it's not here yet. Mcdonald's is adding a new passion fruit orange guava real fruit smoothie in canada, so it's not here that's a busy name I know it's the passion fruit, orange, guava. Real fruit smoothie features the guava puree, the taste of passion fruit and orange, all blended together with yogurt and ice. I don't know. You can enjoy it with or without the yogurt. I don't know about this one. I'm going to pass. I'm going to pass.
Speaker 2That's going to be tough in the drive-thru because you know they're going to get it wrong. I like one of the passion fruit, orange, guava, real fruit smoothies.
Speaker 3With yogurt.
Speaker 2Did you say you want a quarter pounder? Uh, no, no, I want a passion fruit, orange, guava, real fruit. Okay, is that happy meal? No, no, that's what I want to say.
Speaker 3So it's gonna be tough do you want ketchup with that?
Speaker 2do you want the toy? Do you want the apple? What do you want? I don't know this. I'm going to taco bell. I'll see you later I know.
Speaker 3Can I tell you what I had McDonald's this past weekend?
Speaker 2with the girls, did you yeah?
Speaker 3I'm not going to eat it again for a long time. Oh, I had a terrible experience. Too much information. How about new?
Speaker 2Yeah, so what else do you have?
Speaker 37-Eleven welcomes, new Mango Nada Donut with Tahini seasoning and new Peach Candy Lemonade Slurpee. What's up with all these names?
Speaker 2I don't know they're so long, they're so big, so it's a donut and a drink.
Speaker 3What would you say? How do you say that? Mangonada, mangonada. Okay, the new Mangonada donut consists of a donut filled with a mixture of mango and chamoy. No, idea. Whatever, and topped with a sprinkling of tahini and sugar.
Speaker 2I don't want a spicy donut.
Household Chores and Exercise Debate
Speaker 3No, but the new limited edition peach candy lemonade slurpee drink blends the sweetness of peach with the tartness of lemonade to make it the ultimate summer frozen treat.
Speaker 2Peach drinks. I'm all about that. I can't wait for Chick-fil-A to get their peach milkshake. I'm out on all. I'm out on all All the foods.
Speaker 3Their peach milkshake I'm out on all, I'm out on all, All the foods we've done today.
Speaker 2I'm out on yeah, zero for three Yep 726.
Speaker 1Barry and Holly on Alabama's Country, Giant WQSB. Come on, man.
Speaker 2Mornings. Come on man Story. Okay, now exercising. I've been exercising my left arm from surgery Three times a day Rehab. Thank you to Hannah and the gang at TOC doing a fantastic job. She's nice and easy. It's hard to be easy when somebody's got that kind of pain, but she's doing a great job.
Speaker 3That's not what you told me. You're being nice. Okay, I cried. You told me it was awful.
Speaker 2They had to get me out of the floor. I was in the fetal position had to make me go home. No, no, but as far as exercising, but I'm still trying to walk and I do. But according to a survey out this morning, 60% of Americans believe they get all the exercise they need without going to the gym. They think that doing household chores of some type keeps them in shape, so they don't have to exercise. Okay, do you think doing household chores is the same as exercising?
Speaker 3Okay, when I used to have an Apple Watch, when I used to be a billionaire, I would get a notification on my phone, on my watch, like hey, you're exercising, do you want to log it? When I'm cleaning the house, when I'm scrubbing the toilet?
Speaker 2You are moving your arms.
Speaker 3Or switching the laundry over. And I was telling you, my body doesn't know, hey, she's just switching laundry over, let's not burn calories. It's thinking, hey, we're working, we're moving, we're burning calories, we're going, thinking, hey, we're working, we're moving, we're burning calories, we're going. But I don't think it should take the place of exercise, if that makes sense.
Speaker 2I agree, because they broke it in and said okay, exactly what do you do and what do you consider exercise? And they said walking around the neighborhood, yes, that's not a chore. Doing yard work yes, I'd say that is an exercise that's good exercise they. You may be raking or mowing the yard yes, you're exercising. If you're pushing it, if you're riding it no, you're not working it. Walking the dog yes, exercise Grocery shopping, putting them in and out, I think so yeah. Well, you are pushing a cart.
Speaker 2You're working the arms. You You're lifting the whatever off the shelf.
Speaker 3I would vote that as a yes.
Speaker 2Toting in groceries.
Speaker 3Anything that makes me break out into a sweat, if I'm putting physical force in, is considered exercise. So grocery shopping is.
Speaker 2I think grocery shopping should be an Olympic sport. Here's what I mean, because if you ever go to the grocery store and you get, say, four or five or six bags, my goal is to get them all in the house in one trip, one trip. So it don't matter if I have to put three bags on one hand, three on the other.
Speaker 3It's got to be on one trip.
Speaker 2Got the other one in my mouth or whatever. I consider that like a gold medal event if I can successfully get it into the house without dropping it and spilling it or breaking it. Anywhere you can hang a bag is fair game Pretty much, I guess I'm picturing, yeah.
Speaker 3Anywhere. Anywhere you can hang a bag Ear, nose, tongue, yeah, head put one around your neck? I don't know. I'm going to tell you, though, I do the same exact thing, and as a single mama too. Grocery shopping is exercise. It is. It's hard. It's hard work, especially when you're out of everything and you've got to get out, like the water, like the case of water and the gallon of tea and the gallon of milk.
Speaker 2That's true, that's true, you're lifting.
Speaker 3Yeah, the different foods. It's so much easier to go grocery shopping with somebody, which is why I make you go with me most Fridays.
Speaker 2Yeah because it's tough. Okay, two more. Okay, 40% say that gardening is a form of exercise. Absolutely, I agree. Absolutely, because you're working the hoe.
Speaker 3Oh no, Different hoe no Working the weasel Working the weasel?
Speaker 2No, no, out out in the garden, but you're bending, you're pulling and you're pulling at weeds and you're whatever. Yeah, okay, and also 10% thing that getting kids ready for school is a workout in itself.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 2Picture the young ones You're having to chase down in the ground. It's a yes for me Hold down. Put their clothes on Uh-huh Comb their hair Uh ground. It's a yes for me Hold down, put their clothes on, comb their hair, that's tough.
Speaker 3Brush teeth, wipe butts, put socks on put socks back on put the shirt back on. Put the diaper back on.
Speaker 2That's an Olympic sport, that's a workout.
Speaker 3Man, I don't miss those days, but I miss them being little. I wish I could go back and visit, like, just hold. Yes, I think that's what grandbabies are for, I agree. I think that's why people love grandbabies so much.
Speaker 2It is because when you finish holding, you're through. Here you go. See you tomorrow.
Speaker 3Toss it off to the side. Bye-bye, goodbye.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah. So anyway, 60% think that chores keep them in shape. What's your thought? I think that helps. Exercise. Still got to walk, you still need the better cardio, you've got to do some other stuff and things like that.
Speaker 3Well, you're not going to get a who's a female actress with a really good build, simone Biles. You're not going to be Simone Biles from carrying in the groceries. No, but it's healthy to move your body. So if that's all you can do, hey, Do what you can.
Speaker 2If that's the best you can do, then that's fine. Do something, just keep moving. Yeah, it's 743.
Speaker 1Wqsb Mornings with Barry and Holly.
Speaker 2Time for Holly's Knowledge Nuggets. You know you ask people what they like about the show. Many people comment on this because it's little tidbits, little nuggets of information that you may not know, you may have heard before, and we're giving you stuff just to take with you throughout the day and share with others like you got three of them today.
Speaker 3Yeah, just put this in your pocket.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 3Before they're five years old, 75% of children will have an ear infection.
Speaker 2I believe that Absolutely that is 100% true. Donald Reed had to have two surgeries when he was little.
Speaker 3Tubes Did he have tubes?
Speaker 2Tubes put in twice.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, but didn't they make a big difference? They did, yeah, huge difference. They stopped crying almost immediately.
Speaker 2And the doctors said this has really been big over the past 20, 25 years, or I guess a little bit longer, that so many kids now have ear infections.
Speaker 3Both of my girls had tubes and carried constant ear infections. I don't know why, but anyway. So 55% of people with a sunroof in their car never use it. I don't understand why I would have that thing open all the time.
Speaker 2I don't have a car with a sunroof, but I used to have a car with what they call T-tops.
Speaker 3I have a Jeep, so I have the. Yeah, you can take the quarter panels off.
Speaker 2Now, that's more trouble having to remove A sunroof. You can just reach up and smash a button and boom, there you are.
Speaker 3Yeah, exactly. So I love taking my quarter panels off in the summer, especially after a day in the pool. I've got the girls. We're driving down the road eating old McDonald's, Old.
Speaker 2McDonald's.
Speaker 3Yeah, nasty food, and then heading to Wendy's to spend more money so I can get something that's worth real, and so I love taking the quarter panels off, but again single mom doing it by myself sure a little difficult. If I had a sunroof, though, I'd keep that thing open. I would too. And just in case you forgot that statistic 55% of people don't use it. Don't use it. Odds are at least one of the guests at a wedding you've attended.
Speaker 2Oh no, this is a tough one. Are you sure I can say this has become good friends, is a good friend with.
Speaker 3Odds are at least one of the guests at the wedding you've attended has had fun with either the bride or the groom. Either the bride or the groom. At least one of the guests has had a party. Oink, oink.
Speaker 2Yeah. With either the bride or the groom, and probably the bride or the groom. The other one doesn't know it. Oh and they're just sitting there going. You can't invite them Sometimes they just show up.
Speaker 3No, no, people don't just show up to weddings. Yes, they do.
Speaker 2No, they don't if you're one of the exes here, you might just to get in one last jab yep yeah, well, that's fine, so at least one of the guests.
Speaker 3Okay, all right, I'd be careful with that one, on that one, okay, 753 mornings with Well that's fine.
Speaker 2So at least one of the guests, okay, all right. Well, I had to be careful with that one.
Speaker 1Nope on that one. Okay, 753. Mornings with Barry and Hall here on Alabama's country giant WQSB.

Speaker 2Country music news coming up in a second. Hey, we're looking at some of the photos. Speaker 2Tina Butler yeah, yeah, I totally get this.
Speaker 3And so we're going to let people vote on this, so cast your vote on which is your favorite lookalike.

Speaker 3Who's Catherine Tempth? Because she does favor her?
Speaker 2I don't know, to be honest.
Speaker 3She looks like her, whoever it is.
Speaker 2It looks like Maybe it's the girl from the Good Doctor. What's her Hold?
Speaker 3on Resnick. No, that's not her, is it no To me?
Speaker 2Morgan looks like Resnick. Ashley Bowen looks like to me from the Good Doctor.
Speaker 3From the Good Doctor.
Speaker 2From Dr Resnick.
Speaker 3She's a television personality, reporter and comedian.
Speaker 2Gotcha. Okay, let's see. Here's Andrew Lewis Says Deshaun Watson football player. Andrew, I can see that. Yeah, I can see that. Good picture. Thanks for sharing that with us, Brandy Justice. Mike Gentry, I've been told I look like the head of Barry Galloway's fan club. You do? You do? I can see the resemblance. That is not what he said, I'm sorry, I'm kidding Edie Falco from the Sopranos Brandy Justice. That is not what he said, oh he didn't say that.
Speaker 3I'm sorry, I'm kidding Edie Falco from the Sopranos, brandy Justice yeah.
Speaker 2Brandy, I'm with you, I can see it. That looks like it. Betty Dobbins. I've always thought that my niece Ashley looked like Sandra Bullock. I can see the resemblance.
Speaker 3And then there's Griff, griff, jelly roll. And we know, griff, you look just like jelly roll. Yep, just like him.
Speaker 2Okay, connie Kilpatrick, put one up. My daughter, madison Higgins, has been told she looks like Cameron Diaz.
Speaker 3Oh, I will agree with that. She does favor her.
Speaker 2She does.
Speaker 3Yeah, she does.
Speaker 2Yep.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 2There's some great photos on here.
Speaker 3There's another Luke Combs, yep I, there's some great photos on here. There's another Luke Combs. Yeah, I think Luke Combs is because of the beard Gotcha. You know what I mean, yep.
Speaker 2And I take Corey. Washburn says Christina Ritchie or Wednesday Adams, and I'm looking at your picture, corey, and I agree. Oh my gosh, that's very close.
Speaker 3That is close, corey, wow.
Speaker 2Yeah, and if you want to see these photos and send us yours, do so by going to her Facebook page. These are fun to look at. Yeah. And seeing. We got some lookalikes in this area.
Speaker 3Some famous yeah, I want to call this out Bailey Dollar says everyone thinks Holly and I sound just alike on the radio. I've been told that by almost everyone, so I met her. I met Bailey and her voice was pleasant, but I didn't think that sounds just like me, but the way you sound to yourself is different now.
Speaker 2You're right, not because, bailey, we ran into her at the um was it that I have not?
Speaker 3not the uh, not the war the chamber? No, we made a chamber and we ran her to the baseball miracle. Yeah, it was a miracle.
Speaker 2Know, she really does sound like you.
Speaker 3Really she does you think so?
Speaker 2Yeah, oh man, Everybody Trey, says.
Speaker 3I've been told I look like Frank Thomas the baseball player.
Speaker 2Now, you may not know Frank Thomas, but he does Don't know Frank Thomas. Hold on, I'm going to Google him, throwing that out there.
Speaker 3What no?
Speaker 2I mean he's copying.
Speaker 3Is he copying?
Speaker 2He's copying I mean if anybody can bend a pole. He said I'll be there in about five minutes. Oh no. I'm upset Trey no. But be sure and comment, let us know. We'll have a. We'll announce a winner tomorrow morning and give you a QSB t-shirt. All right, it's 8.13,. Country news is next.
Speaker 1Mary and Holly on Alabama's country giant WQSB.
Rolling Stone's Top Country Songs
Speaker 2WQSB's country music news. Well, the big story this morning is Rolling Stone magazine. Now they released a list earlier this week of what they consider the top 200 country songs of all time. You know, this is tough. If you go back to the beginning of country music they included, uh, back from day one country music to like today yeah, there's even a song on there now that just fell off the charts a few days ago.
Speaker 2Which one? Uh, beyonce. Oh okay, I've got problems with them saying, okay, these are the best 200 of all time. Uh, beyonce's texas hold'em is a good song, but these are the best 200 of all time Beyonce's Texas Hold'em is a good song, but is it one of the best of all time?
Speaker 3No, no, no, not even close, not even close.
Speaker 2Who did this Rolling Stone Magazine? I don't know. It doesn't say what they looked at exactly, if they have charts or just the musical taste. I don't know.
Speaker 3But number one, okay, okay, I'll give them this one, it's a good one.
Speaker 2Dolly parton's jolene oh yeah, they consider the best country song of all time. That's a good one. That's a good one. Hard to argue with that one. Uh, then number two is johnny cash. I'll walk the line good um I'm sorry. Number two is patsy clines crazy. Three was hank williams. I'm so lonesome I could Cry. And then George Jones he Stopped Loving Her. Today comes in at number five.
Speaker 3He stopped loving her today.
Speaker 2Yeah so there's some good ones. So there's some good ones. Yeah, I'm sure. Johnny Cash was two, patsy Cline three, hank Williams was four, then George Jones was five.
Speaker 3No.
Speaker 2Then some of the other ones in the top ten. Ray Charles, you Don't Know Me, there was number six. I Don't Know that Song.
Speaker 3I don't even know. I've never even heard of that song.
Speaker 2Okay, number seven, Jimmy Rogers, Standing on the.
Speaker 3Corner, I don't think I've ever heard that that's an old one.
Speaker 2I think yeah, eight Tammy Wynette Stand by your man. Oh God, good song. Number nine Merle Haggard Mama Tried, Okay, it's Amarillo by Morning. Those are good, but then to get into something a little unusual, Taylor Swift has two songs in the top 200. Mean is at number 20 on the chart.
Speaker 3You know I'm a huge Swifty, but I don't think that Mean is a good song.
Speaker 2And I don't think it should be in the top 200 of all time.
Speaker 3I don't think it should either.
Speaker 2The other one is Tim McGraw. Not of all time. No, her Tim McGraw song.
Speaker 3That's not even a good one, that's no.
Speaker 2God. Okay, other ones. Number 30, shania Twain. Man, I Feel Like a Woman.
Speaker 3Yes, okay, that's pretty high. That's way up there, that one needs to be up there.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 3Because you can kick the doors down on that one.
Speaker 2I'd rather have the number 35.
Speaker 3I bet that that's the number one drunk karaoke song in the world.
Speaker 2I bet you're right. Okay, also, the dance. I don't have the number. It made the top 200. Alabama has a song in there. Oh good, alabama Mountain Music, number 61. That should be way higher, way higher than 61.
Speaker 3That should be way higher.
Speaker 2And then you got Beyonce down there at 192. Takes a hold of them. Come on, man.
Speaker 3Did you happen to see what number 200 was Do?
Country Music, Listener of the Day
Speaker 2you remember I think it was a Brad Paisley song and I'm not familiar which song. It was Okay, but it's an unusual list because you've got some. You go from Shania Twain to a song from the 1940s, things like that. But I get it. You've got to cover a wide area of history so it's tough on knowing which song to put in there.
Speaker 3So you're telling me that since 1940, of all the country music songs released, Beyonce is in the top 200 of those Exactly.
Speaker 2That's a joke, it really is.
Speaker 3But it's real on the list.
Speaker 2It is, it's on their list. It's not our list. It's Rolling Stone magazine. It's on their list. It's on their list. It's not our list. It's Rolling Stone magazine.
Speaker 3It's on their list, but it's laughable.
Speaker 2It's worth at some point pulling up on Facebook, pulling up the list and looking at it and seeing what's all on there. Yeah, there's some great stuff on there, but 192, beyonce nope, it shouldn't be on there. Top Within the sound of silence, top of the quote of the day. It's a quote of the day. It's words of wisdom, things you can think about, things you need to maybe help you smile. Some of them are funny. Some of these are kind of deep thinking quotes of the day, like this one. This one is a good one from Halford Luckock. I have no idea who that is.
Speaker 3No idea.
Speaker 2That's a great quote.
Speaker 3Good quote. Though no one can whistle a symphony, it takes a whole orchestra to play it and it makes a lot of sense it does.
Speaker 2So when you go to like a symphony's playing, yeah, uh, no one person makes a symphony, it takes a whole big a group 30, 40, 50 people, same thing. If you try to whistle what they're playing, you can't do it, it takes the whole group. It's like a team, uh, baseballball, football, basketball, sport, anything Businesses not one person makes a go, it takes everybody.
Speaker 3Absolutely Especially here. We have so many people that wear so many different hats and play so many different roles. I'm on-air personality. I'm digital director. I'm babysitter of some in here. I'm mother to all. You have tons of jobs.
